"To Love and Be Loved in Return: The Art of Giving and Receiving"

Writer's picture: Marlene Luce TremblayMarlene Luce Tremblay

We celebrate St. Valentine’s Day as a tribute to love, often expressing it toward a significant other. But love is far more than a fleeting romantic gesture—it is the very essence of life itself.

Why do we fall in love with some and not others? Love is not about the one you desire; it is about the one who desires. It is a reflection, a mirror held before the soul. When someone loves you, they do not see you as you are—they see themselves in you. Love is not something given; it is something reflected.

Love rooted in emptiness is fleeting, bound to fade with time. True love does not arise from need but from recognition—when another sees themselves in you, love becomes eternal. It is not something to chase, nor a prize to be earned. Love is not found; it is revealed.
